The Rose City Wind Symphony is a traditional wind ensemble with percussion that accepts members without auditions. Rehearsals are held on Thursday nights from 7-9 pm. Recognized as one of the top adult bands in the Portland metro area, RCWS is active on a national level as a member of the Pride Band Alliance and the Association of Concert Bands. We welcome anyone who plays an instrument to consider joining. While many members are accomplished musicians, many new members had not played since high school or college.

Rose City Pride Marching Band and Colorguard is our largest and most visible ensemble. This entry level, non-audition band welcomes wind players, percussionists, flags and rifles. Our season runs from May through October and includes events like the Portland Pride parade, Portland Marathon and AIDS Walk Portland.

The Rose City Swing Band is our jazz ensemble that plays a range of genres of swing, latin, bebop, funk and rock groove. We’re currently accepting members without audition for vocalists and musicians who play trumpet, trombone, saxophone (especially musicians who are able to double on flute and clarinet) piano, guitar, bass, and percussion.
We’re currently in the process of determining performance events around the Portland area. In the past we’ve performed at various events from local dances to pride events such as OGALLA and Peacock in the Park.
