The Rose City Pride Marching Band & Colorguard is our largest and most visible ensemble. Featuring winds, brass, drumline, flags, and rifles, the marching band and colorguard performs in front of 20,000 people every year. We proudly support our community by marching in pride parades across the metro area, including in Portland, Beaverton, and Newberg. The marching band also performs sets at the Portland Marathon and Portland AIDS Walk, and has recently joined the Portland Bangers FC to perform at their pride night.
The Rose City Pride Marching Band & Colorguard evolved from our organization’s first ensemble, then known as the Rose City Gay Freedom Band. The group has performed at Portland pride events for more than 35 years and continues to march with poise, pride, and power.
The Rose City Pride Marching Band & Colorguard is under the direction of Amanda DuPriest and Stephen Lytle. The band’s season runs from May to October, with rehearsals on weekends in Portland and Hillsboro as determined.
