Rose City Swing is a 16-piece big band with vocalists that plays a range of genres, including swing, latin, bebop, funk, and rock groove. 

Rose City Swing was a recurring subgroup of the Rose City Gay Freedom Band until its official debut in the spring of 1993. Rose City Swing plays solo and collaborative gigs across the metro area, and continues to seek further opportunities to perform. The swing band is a new regular at the Columbia Grange’s annual Valentine’s Swing Dance and was recently featured at the Portland Lindy Society’s Thursday Swing.

Rose City Swing is under the direction of Rich Littledyke and rehearses on Tuesday evenings in Portland. The band’s season runs from August to June.
