LOUD & PROUD ON THE LAWN

Join the Rose City Pride Bands for an evening of music, community, and celebration at Loud & Proud on the Lawn, an open-air Pride concert in the courtyard of the Vancouver School of Arts & Academics*.

First, Rose City Swing is excited to celebrate the rich traditions and vibrant energy of jazz and popular music. Featuring works by legendary composers and artists including George Gershwin, Lionel Richie, Tito Puente, Duke Ellington, and Irving Berlin, tonight’s program highlights a wide variety of musical styles, including Latin, swing, dance, and funk. From timeless classics to high-energy favorites, this performance showcases the versatility of the swing band tradition and celebrates music that continues to bring audiences together across generations.

For the second half, the Rose City Symphonic Band and Rose City Wind Symphony combine to showcase the power and range of wind band music. From the sweeping majesty of Sibelius’s Finlandia to the theatrical brilliance of Chicago, the concert blends classical masterworks with Broadway favorites and cinematic scores. Audiences will also enjoy the wit and energy of La Cage Aux Folles, the spirited Russian Sailors Dance, and timeless selections from Sousa and von Suppé.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and settle in for a vibrant evening where music, pride, and community take center stage. Loud & Proud celebrates the richness of LGBTQ+ artistry and the joy of sharing music together in an open, welcoming space.

$20 suggested donation at the door.
